DSR

DSR is a student-centric studio designed to build confidence in creative process and support students in developing their own approach to design and practice.

“The Cultural Turn”

Culture is dynamic. It evolves and moulds a society in the present, learns from its past and looks towards its future. The identity of a place is shaped by the art, craft and culture of the people who pass through over time.

Architects are called upon to consider places in states of flux and at different stages of their life. They must empathise and listen to places and their people, hear their voices, and understand their stories in order to unlock their future potential.

DSR3 asked students to explore how architecture responds to culture, to consider how places and people evolve over time and to explore a new vernacular for Bath.
